Travertine removal

Travertine is a thick natural stone in a deep mortar bed. It takes more time to remove than ceramic tile, and it costs more. It does not make more dust.

Why travertine is a different job

Travertine is thicker and heavier than ceramic tile. The installer usually sets it in a much deeper mortar bed. There is more material to break, more weight to carry out, and much more mortar to grind. For these reasons, the price for travertine is higher than the price for ceramic tile.

The containment and the dust collection are the same as on any other job. The work only takes more time. We tell you this before the job, not on day 3.

Inside and outside

Many houses in the Valley have travertine from the entry to the patio and the pool deck. We remove it in all these areas. We also use containment outside. Dust from a pool deck moves into the house through an open door.

Questions and answers

Does travertine cost more to remove than tile?
Usually yes. The mortar bed is deeper and the stone is heavier. Tell us the area and we give you the correct number, not a range.
Can you remove travertine from a pool deck or a patio?
Yes. We work outside as frequently as inside. The crew moves the containment to the work area.

One telephone call is usually sufficient.

Tell us the area in square feet and the material on the floor. We give you a price during the call. If you want us to measure the area, a visit takes 20 to 30 minutes.
