Why dust-free
Floor removal makes fine dust.
Some of this dust is silica. Without containment, the dust goes into the air ducts, into the furniture and onto all flat surfaces. Our system collects approximately 99% of it at the tool. You can stay in the house while we work.
Why Kodiak
Our crew learned from the inventors.
We have been in business on our own since 2015, but our crew started before that. Many of them learned this work from the people who invented these dust-free systems.
Since then, we improved the tools, and we make some of them ourselves. Better tools let the crew work faster and let us keep the price low.
Our standard
Your house will be as clean when we leave
as it was when we arrived.
The slab will be ready for the new floor on the same day.
Where we work
We work in all of the Valley.
These 7 cities are our primary areas. We also travel north to Flagstaff and south to Tucson when the job is sufficiently large. We do not add a travel fee in the Valley.
Questions customers ask
-
Can I stay in my house during the work?
- Yes. Almost all of our customers stay in the house. We close the work area and hold it at a lower air pressure than the rooms around it. Each tool collects the dust at the point of contact. You always keep a route through the house and one bathroom that operates.
-
How much does dust-free floor removal cost?
- We give a price for each square foot. The price depends on the material. Ceramic tile costs less to remove than travertine in a deep mortar bed. Tell us the area and the material, and we give you a price during the telephone call. The price includes waste removal, and service work has no sales tax in Arizona.
-
How long does the work take?
- A usual job takes 1 to 3 days. One room takes approximately 1 day. A full house of 3,000 square feet or more takes 2 to 3 days. Travertine and deep mortar beds take more time than ceramic tile on thinset.
-
Is silica dust dangerous?
- Silica is one type of dust that floor removal makes. Long exposure to silica dust can damage the lungs. This is one reason why people choose dust-free removal. Our system collects approximately 99% of the dust at the tool, before it goes into the air.
-
How long has your crew done this work?
- Kodiak has been in business on its own since 2015, but our crew started before that. Many of them learned this work from the people who invented these dust-free systems. Since then, we improved the tools, and we make some of them ourselves.
-
Do you do more than floor removal?
- Yes. We remove kitchens and bathrooms. We also remove cabinets, drywall, framing and ceiling insulation, and we do small commercial demolition. We remove all the waste from each job.
-
Which areas do you serve?
- We serve the Phoenix Valley. Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Scottsdale, Queen Creek, San Tan Valley and Gold Canyon are our primary areas. We also travel north to Flagstaff and south to Tucson when the job is sufficiently large.
One telephone call is usually sufficient.
