Floor removal
Dust-free tile removal
We remove ceramic and porcelain tile from houses that people live in. We remove the tile and the thinset below it. The slab is then ready for the new floor.
What we do on the job
The crew arrives and closes the work area. We hold the work area at a lower air pressure than the rooms around it. Each cutter and grinder collects the dust at the point of contact. This is where the tool makes the dust, and it is the only place to collect it.
We remove the tile first. Then we grind the thinset below it to bare concrete. We put the debris into bags as we work. We do not make a pile for later. When we open the work area, the floor is clean and the slab is ready.
You can stay in the house
This is the purpose of the containment. Almost all of our customers stay in the house during the job. Many of them watch the crew. We do the work in stages. You always keep a route through the house and one bathroom that operates.
Our standard is simple. Your house will be as clean when we leave as it was when we arrived.
The price
We give a price for each square foot. Tell us the area and the material. We then give you a price during the telephone call. We do not hide the price.
The price includes waste removal. There is no fee for the dump, for travel or for fuel. Service work has no sales tax in Arizona. If you want us to measure the area, a visit takes 20 to 30 minutes.
Questions and answers
-
Is dust-free tile removal fully free of dust?
- No system is perfect. Our system collects approximately 99% of the dust at the tool. In practice, you can stay in the house during the job. You will not find a layer of dust on your furniture after we leave.
-
How long does tile removal take?
- A usual job takes 1 to 3 days. The area controls the time. One room takes approximately 1 day. A full house of 3,000 square feet takes 2 to 3 days. We give you the number of days with the price.
-
Do you also remove the thinset?
- Yes, and the price includes it. If we remove the tile but leave the thinset, no person can install a new floor on the slab. We grind the thinset to clean, flat concrete as part of the job.
-
Must I move my furniture?
- We tell you what to move when we give the price. It is easier if you move the small items. The crew moves and protects the large items.
